The plus lenses over minus definitely aren’t super exact. Optical centers don’t line up necessarily perfectly, distance of the lenses, etc. It’s just a bit of an approximation.

I wouldn’t drop the cylinder entirely, as per my suggestion above. Again though it’s an experiment the first differentials. I generally prefer to side towards not going too low since it’s a better experience to find that there’s more room to reduce later rather than to have close-up strain.

Also a guess but in general you try not to change ratios with first differentials. So equal amount of cylinder reduction for both eyes.
