For reference, for distance I got:
Right eye: 1.75, 2.00, 180
Left eye: 2.25, 2.25, 178

For closeup I got:
Right eye: 1.00, 2.00, 180
Left eye: 1.50, 2.25, 178

My current differentials are:
Right eye: 1.75, 1.25, 176
Left eye: 2.25, 1.75, 005

Between distance and closeup there’s only 0.75 diopter difference, and cylinder is the same. The optometrist said that I was having problems with closeup vision because of my astigmatism. Could there be some truth to this? The closeup prescription that I got today is weaker overall than my differentials, the difference being higher cylinder. Also different axis. That being said though, the 12-ish font letter looked a bit blurry from 55 cm, and it got clear as it got closer to 30 cm-ish, maybe more maybe less.

I’m still very confused on what to do, based on the above. If all else fails, one option is to figure out how to make my computer font size bigger to make it easier to read and do AF. Another option which is not so great is to have my head 25-35 cm away and go up from there.

I’ll try to use my test lens kit tomorrow to clear my confusion. I’ll do the best I can.

Other than that, what do you recommend to clear my confusion about my differential prescription?
